You can change the default unit of measurement, for example
from inches to centimetres, from Tools > Options >
OpenOffice.org Impress > General.

Alignment page
Use the
Alignment
page to determine the text alignment: Left, Right,
Center, or Justified. A preview shows the effects of the changes. The
same choices can be accessed from the Text Formatting toolbar.
